Thus, based on this a plan is developed for the client for example a diabetic person depending on the severity of the situation have to follow a strict diet to ensure that the glucose levels are kept at a manageable level. As this plan will be based on a patients needs the plan would be individualised hence the Providing Individualised Care value is implemented. INTELLECTUALLY:  If the client feels discriminated against they will be affected intellectually in that they will not look research what their rights are and what laws protect them as the Race Relations Act 1970 has been broken.PHYSICALLY  Finally this can lead to negative feelings which may mean that as they are unable to trust one care worker they will not trust any care worker hence will not go to the GP surgery or hospital to get treated hence their health will deteriorate. An example of possible conflict that a care worker could come across in everyday is the patients not getting the appointments they want, waiting too long for an appointment and disagreeing with the surgery not opening all day and in the weekends.  A typical day of a GP:  GPs have tight schedules and experience stress as part of the day to day life of a GP. Firstly they experience the stress of university and meeting deadlines as well as revising and learning new concepts. However this is short term. A GPs worst nightmare is that this stressful and long lifestyle is the part of a GPs life. I am going to discuss the typical day of the main GP (who owns the GP surgery) Dr. K. Lahon:  At 8:30 the GP arrives at the surgery. This is one hour before the GP surgery opens. This is so that any paperwork which was not completed the previous day can be completed. This can take from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on how much paperwork there is. To reduce the paperwork the GP completes as much of it as he can on the day. Additionally arriving 1 hour before the GP surgery opens allows the GP to look over the appointments he has during the day the morning and evening surgery. He can then briefly look at each patients history details which is on a secure database only to which the two GPs can look at and the nurse. This is one way how the GP surgery meets the confidentiality of information care value. 9:30 and the morning surgery begins. Appointments are being booked by the receptionists. On average there are 2 -3 emergency patients who come in. They see the GP or nurse after the rest of the people who have an appointment see the GP/nurse. This takes up to 30 minutes extra. By 12:30 the GP finishes seeing patients.  Then, the GP goes to the reception to sign any remaining prescriptions and to collect the letters or any messages from patients or hospital doctors. Before the GP leaves for lunch, he listens to any queries that the receptionists have or if the nurse/other GP have. This takes around 1/2.  Hence by 1:30 he is free from to go to have lunch and come back for afternoon surgery. At 2:00 the GP looks at blood tests that have arrived from the hospital. This is on average 6 each day. The GP then phones the receptionist to phone certain patients to inform them that their reports have arrived and that they need to book an appointment with either the main GP, the other GP or the nurse. This divides the work load equally hence reduces stress. The more serious blood reports are discussed by the main GP or the other GP. This takes 1/2 hour. At 3:00 the GP checks the post and mail for example to refer patients. Then the GP deals with paperwork such as life insurance forms and child protection reports. This takes 1 hour to do each day.  It is 3:30 and the GP comes in 1/2 before the afternoon surgery begins. This is so that the GP can complete any further paperwork; look at the appointments so look at each patients history briefly.  At 4:30 the afternoon surgery begins and it is normal for the GP to be on tight schedule. As it is normally fully booked, I finish at 7:30 10 minutes per patient. However although the GP afternoon surgery is supposed to finish at 7:00, patients come in late, patients have many questions to answer especially if they are diagnosed with a new disease such as diabetes which takes longer than 10 minutes.  When the afternoon surgery is closed at 7:30. The GP goes over the emails which have been sent during the aftern on surgery and typing referral letters. This takes usually an 1 hour.  At 8 o clock, 1 hours after the set finishing time, 7 o clock the GP can go home. Sometimes the GP has to attend meetings e.g. meetings with the other doctors who are part of the Ealing Primary Care.

The Analysis Of Leadership Theories Management Essay This journal is related to the analysis of Leadership Theories. In this paper, there are four theories that will be discusses, there are the leader-member exchange theory (LMX), path-goal theory, transactional-transformational theory, and the full-range leadership theory (FRLT). Before we started to discuss the analysis of Leadership Theories, the writer felt that is often difficult to separate leadership theories and models. He also informed that the reason of this study of theory and model will be used interchangeable except there is a very clear difference between them. Firstly, the journal is discussed about the leader-member exchange theory. Leader-Member Exchange Theory, also called LMX or Vertical Dyad Linkage Theory, describes how leaders in groups maintain their position through a series of tacit exchange agreements with their members. A leaders approach is addressed by the theories to the business environment and the followers perception of a leaders performance. The direct relationship between a leader and a follower and theoretical context for their interactions is the dyadic relationship. So that, there are 3 quality of the leader-follower interaction were determined by the LMX such as locus of control, need for power, and self esteem. A size of how a person know his control over his life and environment is locus of control. A person feels a sense of control over his life and activities is called has a high internal locus of control. These type of person also are positive correlate with job satisfaction. The need of power is that employees who understand that need by asking for feedback on performance, compete more visibility jobs and leadership opportunities at their work and career. Another is the self esteem, employees have a sense of their value to the company which typically manifests as more job satisfaction and more emotional resilience. Besides that, the path-goal theory of leadership was developed to describe the way that leaders encourage and support their followers in achieving the goals they have been set by making the path that they should take clear and easy. Path-goal theory describe a leaders activity in leading followers within the context of the organizations environment in a highly structured environment followers do not need a good deal of guidance to perform their works. Unless in an unstructured environment they may need more. Another is the core of the transactional-transformational theory revolves around the alignment of personal and organizational goals, which the theory states benefits both the leader and the follower. The transactional-transformational theory is composed of four transformational components, the four Is such as idealized influence, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration and inspirational motivation and three transactional components such as contingent reward, passive management by exception and active management by exception. Lastly is the full range leadership theory (FRLT). An extension of transformational leadership theory to nine dimensions of leader behavior is called FRLT. The emotional part of leadership is isolated by idealized influence and is a view of the followers emotional engagement with the leader. According to the writer, the full range leadership theory is also closely associated with the multifactor leadership questionnaire. From this journal, the measure of the success of a theory is based on a number of reasons, that is all the theories are considered in a business environment where success is linked to measurable business criteria. Success has many meaning, but at here will mean that there is a good fit between the leaders behavior and the theory. The writer specially remember this does not necessarily mean that a theories success implies a leaders success because some of the measures will be negatively related to leader performance. Each of the theories under consideration has explained modes of leader behavior, considered both the leaders effect on followers and the interaction between leader and follower. An leader-member exchange scale assesses the degree to which leaders and followers have mutual respect for one anothers capabilities, feel a deepening sense of mutual trust and have a strong sense of obligation to one another. Another way to analysis is the dimensions of measurement for LMX are focused on the follower and his/her job satisfaction and feeling of control. Transformational leadership is defined as a leadership approach that creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders. A transformational leader focuses on transforming others to help each other, to look out for each other, to be encouraging and harmonious, and to look out for the organization as a whole. With this leadership, the leader enhances the motivation, morale and performance of his followers through a variety of mechanisms. These include connecting the followers sense of identity and self to the mission and the collective identity of the organization; being a role model for followers that inspires them; challenging followers to take greater ownership for their work, and understanding the strengths and weaknesses of followers, so the leader can align followers with tasks that optimizes their performance. An example, Sagie and Koslowski (1994) state that employees involved in tactical decision making, participation i n decision making, feel more empowered and involve in the company in future pay and assignment. A person who is practicing active management by expection is called a transactional leader who can use a path-goal and leader-member exchange. The factor for this is the outcome, the transactional leader sees as the total output of the exchange and the transformational leader sees as a stage in the growth of the follower. An action to motive follower, the transactional leader appeals to both the followers intellect and emotions. He will use the best approach at his disposal to move followers forward in achieving his vision. In addition, a leader a full toolkit of capabilities to control his relationship with subordinates is given by the full-range leadership theory. According to this journal, the full range leadership theory can explain most leadership activity simply and leadership-member exchange theory directly addresses the varying relationship between leaders and their subordinates in a context. But since this happens at a higher level, leadership-member exchange does not address the dissemination of vision. Besides, the ability of a leader to direct the activities of subordinates had been addressed by the path-goal theory. Bases on these, the writer feel that transactional-transformational theory is more complete than the prior two theories. The reason of his feeling is it includes their activities, by implication, and expands on the basis for leader actions. Otherwise, this leader also retains the ability to function in a transactional mode in more stable situations. The superior to transactional-transformational theory is full range leadership theory which is an attempt to complete them with the addition of components. Humphreys (2001) found that transformational leaders were more likely to grasp the implication of technology adoption than transactional leaders. Leaders can grow in many ways like educational environments, extending their knowledge of leadership and the world around them. A leader can temper his decisions with wisdom although some would contend that philosophy is useless. Leadership theories are  a relatively recent phenomena that have been advanced by the sudden interest in historical leaders and the desire to identify the characteristics and behaviors that these leaders exhibited.   By understanding the characteristics of the leader, their successes and failures, as well as the political and work environment they faced, the modern day worker can hope to replicate this success. All lie in a multi-dimensional continuum were considered by the leadership theories that considers the emotional, intellectual, physical, and value structure of leaders and followers. Charismatic leadership is leadership based on the leaders ability to communicate and behave in ways that reach followers on a basic, emotional way, to inspire and motivate. Its difficult to identify the characteristics that make a leader charismatic, but they certainly include the ability to communicate on a very powerful emotional level, and probably include some personality traits. Developing charisma is difficult, if not impossible for many people, but luckily charismatic leadership is not essential to be an effective leader. Many other characteristics are involved in leading effectively, and there is significant evidence to indicate that it simply is not necessary to have this elusive charisma to lead others well. Finally, the writers conclusion is between these four theories it appears that none of them are counterproductive. He felt that a leader can pursue them in a balanced manner and expect reasonable results. So the full range leadership theory is the most complete of the theories. Nobody knows whether he or she was born to be that person that could do something. Something that others arent able to do and he or she is the only person who can do it. NOBODY KNOWS! Basically, that is the story Im going to talk about. It is all about that one chosen person. Its all about the chosen ones belief, faith, and the difference between good and evil. The story comes from the novel "Enders Game" and The Matrix movie. "Enders Game" novel is the winner of both Hugo and Nebula awards by the New York Times best-selling author, Orson Scott Card. And The Matrix movie was written and directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski. "Enders Game" is a novel about a young boy named Ender who was chosen and trained to fight the buggers or aliens in order to save the human race. Neo is the main character in the movie The Matrix. Neo is a single independent man who was also chosen to save the human race, not from the "bugger" but the "matrix". In my point of view, both of these stories are all about the Christian religion. It represents people's beliefs in God. People must believe in God, or in something, and their beliefs will help them go through their life. Their beliefs will bring them happiness; keep them from struggling and divert them from danger. Their beliefs will give them faith, help them follow the right path and stay away from the evils. Both of the stories are science fiction and shows what can lie in the future. Orson Scott Card showed his main point in his novel by its title, "Ender's Game".
